The UNDP Afghanistan Office and International Humanitarian Nonprofit Organization Roots of Peace jointly host a landmark International Women’s Day event in Abu Dhabi on 6 March 2022, dedicated to recognizing the rich history and contribution of 60 successful women business leaders and other professionals of Afghanistan.

The event celebrates Afghan women’s past and present legacy into the national and international economy, advocates for equal opportunities, and supports their critical role in fostering sustainable peace prosperity in Afghanistan.

The Resident Representative of Afghanistan, Abdallah Al Dardari added, “There is a rich history of Afghan women entrepreneurs' contribution that has sustained and uplifted the country's economy. Their vital contributions and unbowed spirit must continue to help accelerate development, prosperity in the country, and the wellbeing of its people.”

The participants of this momentous day – the first of its kind, celebrate the importance of women's role in Afghan society despite the tremendous challenges. Their ambition and wisdom will continue to inspire others in the Forbes 30/50 Summit in Abu Dhabi, which runs from 6-9 March.
